We are Matt and Elizabeth Schreier at The Hideaway. We believe in the joy of gathering and love creating space for our community to make meaningful connections through food and hospitality.
Our goal is to be your favorite spot for dining out and spending quality time with your loved ones.
Our historic space is filled with semi-private seating that encourages conversation and connection. We have a commitment to simplicity with a menu made-from-scratch complemented by our signature cocktails. Every detail has been crafted with intention to make our guests feel special.
our Story
Our story begins in 2010. The journey began in April 2010 when Matt saw an opportunity to move home and create a welcoming space that people could enjoy, combining his love for food and hospitality. Elizabeth had similar passions, so in 2012, she left her job so that we could work together as a team. Since the beginning, we couldn’t have anticipated how our guests would embrace our business as well as our family, and for that we will be forever grateful. We found fulfillment in building relationships with our restaurant community and seeing the joy our space brought to our guests.
After 8 years, the demands of balancing our business, family and personal well-being became overwhelming. We didn’t make it a priority to take care of ourselves and our family in a way that was healthy for us or the business. Then COVID-19 forced us to really pause and reflect deeply on our priorities and goals. Ultimately, we made the difficult decision to close our doors.
Almost 3 years later, we decided to reopen. We are committed to creating vibrant, welcoming spaces that allow for connection and experience. This restaurant is a small piece of our larger vision to contribute to the revitalization of our community.
We have hosted thousands of celebrations, and we are eager and excited to once again welcome you to create unforgettable memories in our cherished space. Welcome back to The Hideaway!
